INTERNATIONAL STEPS:

Since 2007, the following Governments and Organizations have issued precautionary statements regarding mobile phone and Wi-Fi technologies and health (particularly concerning children):
2009:
- US Senator Tom Harkin (September 14, 2009) chairs a Senate Inquiry initiated by Senator Arlen Specter regarding health effects of cell phones. Click here for details.
- Landmark resolution passed (559 votes for, 22 against) by the European Parliament (April 2, 2009) regarding electromagnetic radiation health hazards from mobile phones and their base stations. Click here for the official press release.
- French Environment Minister (Jan 2009) proposes new legislation regarding mobile phone advertising and sale to children in France.
2008:
- US Congress (Sept 2008) Committee on Oversight and Government Reform holds landmark hearing re: tumor-risk associated with cell phones - for written summary and video of testimony click here
- European Parliament (Sept 2008) votes 522 to 16 to revise mobile phone and WiFi radiation safety standards recognising current standards are obsolete
- US Physicians and Scientists (August 2008) speak to MSN regarding mobile phone safety concerns
- University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute Chief (July 2008) re: mobile phone risks, precautions
- Israel Environment Protection Ministry (July 2008) re: mobile phone chargers and transformers
- Toronto Public Health (Canada; July 2008) recommends children have mobile phone usage restricted
- Progressive Librarians Guild (USA) (June 2008) endorses a precautionary approach to library WiFi
- Venice Resolution - International Commission for Electromagnetic Safety (ICEMS; June 6, 2008) - A clear statement originally signed by 46 scientists and physicians wordwide regarding the abundance of credible scientific evidence for the health risks associated with electromagnetic radiation; click here
